上課的時候，老師拿了一本他非常推薦的小冊子--『英文作文正則』金陵著 [An Analytical Study of Common Errors in English Compositions Written by Chinese College Students / BURT L. KING]，這本不到80頁薄薄的本子，印刷相當不精美，泛黃的紙質，才一翻開就看到裡面說到自己常犯的英文寫作錯誤，難怪能讓名師大力的推薦著。這本自從民國72年出版至今，直至78年修訂四版過之後，就沒看到再版過。而第一次上課晚到的同學缺書領不到，到了第二次上課時，班代就說各大出版社都找不到了，應該是本絕版的書了。

希望，自己慢慢研讀的同時，能把一些些的重點記下，分享出來。

◎ Errors in the Use of Words
Faulty:
"I got on the train and backed to Taipei from Tamsui."

"Back" is wrongly used as a verb meaning "come back." It is so is used because the Chinese equivalent of "back" is a verb and the Chinese equivalents of "come back" and "go back" are literally "back come" and "back go", where, contrary to English, "back" is verb and "come" and "go" function as adverbs.

Improved:
A. I got on the train and came back to Taipei from Tamsui.
B. I got on the train and returned to Taipei from Tamsui.
